+-------------------------------[Release Notes]------------------------------+

Just plain great, clearly destined for stardom. - East Bay Express (San
Francisco)

They have the kind of chemistry that country-rock legends are made of. -
Seattle Post-Intelligencer

What an amazing band. They give me hope for the future. - Rosanne Cash

Dusk is a bittersweet time of day. Theres no other point in the suns arc
that captures the imagination quite like it. Maybe the Nashville-based
alt. folk-pop trio The Bittersweets cant literally splash a sunset
across the sky, but they bring the same striking contrast of shadow and
luminescence to the ears.

The Bittersweets Chris Meyers (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Hannah Prater
(vocals, guitar) and Steve Bowman (drums) live up to their name. They
fuse yellows and blues, sunniness and melancholy, with evocative lyrics
and lush arrangements, transcendent melodies and Praters alluring voice.
On every track of their new album, Goodnight, San Francisco, The
Bittersweets weave a captivating tension between hope and poignancy that
rings true.

Goodnight, San Francisco, flows seamlessly through eleven gorgeous mood
pieces. Lex Price桵indy Smith producer and sideman條ent his delicate
producing touch, and brought in a perfectly sympathetic team of players:
steel guitarist Russ Pahl (Don Williams), bassist Dave Jacques (John
Prine), guitarist Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin), cellist David Henry (Ben
Folds), organ player John Deaderick (Emmylou
Harris) and others. GRAMMY Award winner Jason Lehning (Guster) also lent
his mixing and playing abilities to the project.

Originally a San Francisco based duo, The Bittersweets first EP
(self-released in 2005), quickly became a KFOG favorite. This landed
Hannah and Chris a three month stint on KFOGs Local Artist of the Month
series and after his hearing a few demos, the jumping on board of
current drummer Steve Bowman (Third Eye Blind, Counting Crows). In 2006
The Bittersweets released their debut full length album, The Life You
Always Wanted, to resounding critical acclaim and success. With songs
featured on the ABC drama Men in Trees and the TNT drama Rapture, its no
surprise The Bittersweets were praised as just plain great and clearly
destined for stardom by the East Bay Express.

Just like dusk, the Bittersweets songs have a stirring,
not-neatly-sewn-up quality thats hard to shake. And thats just the
point. Says the bands primary songwriter, Chris Meyers, I think art is
at its best when its asking questions rather than giving answers.
