Nach dem Motto "Jeder Tritt in den Hintern, bringt dich auch einen Schritt nach vorne" stellen sie sich mit viel Humor und Energie den neuen Herausforderungen. Bald erkennen sie, dass die Umstellung durchaus auch positive Seiten hat. Not schweißt zusammen und das Wort Familie kriegt einen ganz neuen Sinn. So kommt es zu einer erneuten Annäherung der Eltern Paul und Adina, die seit Jahren nur höflich nebeneinander her gelebt haben. Und die beiden Töchter Lilo und Sarah erkennen, dass das wirklich wichtige im Leben unbezahlbar ist: Wahre Freundschaft, Vertrauen, Geborgenheit und die Liebe ihrer Eltern.
