In dieser Serie gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit einer Nebenfigur der Warner Cartoons. Wie ein Wirbelwind rotiert der stets gefräßige Bewohner Tasmaniens und frisst alles, was ihn in den Weg kommt. Er ist nicht gerade sehr helle und damit das ideale Opfer des cleveren Hasen Bugs Bunny. Insgesamt kam er aber lediglich auf fünf Auftritte.
Für die Serie wird Taz nun eine ganze Familie samt einigen Freunden zur Seite gestellt: Da ist Vater Hugh, Mutter Jean, die 12jährige Schwester Molly, der vier Jahre alte Bruder Jake und Hausschildkröte Dog. Taz selbst ist im Teenager-Alter und arbeitet als Hotelpage im “Hotel Tasmania”. Sein Appetit ist weiter ungezügelt, sehr klug ist er nicht gerade und sein Wortschatz ist weiterhin ziemlich unverständliches Gegrunze. Anders hingegen seine Familie, die auch eine ganz normale menschliche Familie sein könnte - allerdings wohnhaft in einer Höhle.
Es gibt noch eine Vielzahl anderer Figuren wie Kängurus, Krokodile, Wombats, Kiwis oder Dingos. Aber auch einige Menschen wie Bushwacker Bob oder Constance kommen vor.
Nicht in jeder Episode steht Taz im Mittelpunkt.
